Several months to talk about

My oh my. seems like a lifetime since I was able to get time to sit down and do some typing. So my apologies for that. but I do have some exciting news to tell about how the Opry is doing and about some of the things God is doing. So sit back and have a nice read.
As you no or maybe you didn't? But we were concerned there for a little while that the Opry would cease to exist do to not having a co-inhibitor in the building to help with the bills. ALERT- GOD NEWS..... someone has stepped up and is helping us. PRAISE HIM! May he send us more.
In the months that have past (shame on me) there has been many great acts on the stage of the Opry! here are some pics, so I don't go messin up any names.
The feast in Jan. was a smashing success again, do in part to my father's astounding chicken and dumplings. If you have never made it to the Opry! in Jan.,you don't know what your missing.
Suppose that is all for now but I will return in a few days and post some more pic's

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!
So,,, The count was 72 people last I checked. That was around 8pm, and I noticed more people coming in. What a blessed evening! The group (Between here and Heaven) was the feature and many local singers made the night, Awesome! The food was great and the fellowship is always a blessing! If you have never made it here to enjoy an evening with us, I assure you you do not know what your missing. The theme here is always the Lord, and the blessings he has handed out over the month.
We recently added a bunch of chairs, so... we are prepared for you and the Lord is expecting you! Come and see what the Lord has in store for you?
We welcome all singers and turn no one away! Come early as to assure your spot in the line up! Doors open at 6pm.

Hello! And welcome to another addition of the Opry News!
This month was a blessing to say the least, Lots of local talent showed up to sing for the lord and did not disappoint. If you would like to sing at the opry, look us up! Our music selection seems to grow each month, with either track music or karaoke. So.. as long as you supply the nerve, the stage is yours!
To serve as a reminder... Ask about outing in the park! the third week in August. Games, FOOD, and of course open mic! Hope to see you there!

March!!!

Wow! What a blessing! Well it was a great month at the singing. I found myself either cooking or playing parking lot jockey. We had about 65 people at the singing this month,and so much food I had to set up another table to fit it all!
We had a mix up with the booking, so we got a special blessing. Two features and lots of local talent that kept our eardrums very busy. The features were Brenda Cole and the FisherMen, both unique in there own way. You can tell when they perform the Holy Spirit enters the room.
Very soon I will be adding a spot on the page here that has dates of upcoming features and events in the life of the singing. All this is very exciting to me and I am so happy that I'm able to share it with the world.
Oh yea, Lets not forget that we celebrated a 64Th birthday of the founder of the singing. My father, Danny Smith (the storyteller).

Canaanland Opry!

Welcome to the very first entry of introduceing the online community to the Canaanland Opry! Who we are: We are a group of believers in the body of Christ, that support Transport for Christ in Lodi, OH. thru are ministry of song and fellowship. Mission focus:To support t.f.c. thru love offerings taken each month at the singing by simply having a good time in Christ Jesus! Location: canaan, Oh. in the community center,just north of the corners of rt. 604 and canaan center rd. A little insight on the gosple sing; Founder, Danny Smith(storyteller) has been holding the singing the first saturday of every month for 16 years, as a way to help the chaplins in the Lodi location spred the good news to truckers from all over the country. A love offering is taken up before a pot luck meal is served at the tail end of the singing each month. The entertainment is put on by a variety of local talent and regional acts, and if you bring some track music, you may find yourself center stage as well! This is a benefit for T.F.C. so all performing is done for the love of Christ and the love of spreding his word! My name is Toby, I'm danny's son, and new at this whole computer thing so please feel free to give me your thoughts and ideas about the site. things will get better as I learn more about what I can do on here.
